ABOUT

Hey There! I’m Mike and this little blog is my home on the internet. Aside from being an adventure blogger, I’m also the owner of a creative agency called Seeds focused on helping small businesses and brands grow with web design, marketing, video, and more.

Oh! This is Megan, she’s been there since day one and is always by my side on any of our adventures. Plus I think she’s pretty great, together we’re Discover the Adventure and we share our knowledge and experiences here!

Where it all Began

In 2011, one year after graduating High School I was a little lost with no clear direction of my life. I had just been laid off from a job that I thought was going to be my life long career, and I was bouncing around between freelance gigs until one of my friends invited me to do something crazy.

Hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim.

Needless to say, this week spent at the bottom of the Grand Canyon completely changed my life. From that day forward, I spent every waking moment dreaming of my next big adventure and the place I wanted to go next.

Hike Northeast

In 2014 I started a blog called Hike Northeast, its goal was to become New England’s resource for everything hiking. I wrote reviews on trails that I had hiked, gear I used like my first hiking boots, and shared some advice along the way from how to treat a blister and the gear you need to enjoy hiking in the rain.

But after a year and a half of writing, my interests started to grow and change. I noticed I was spending less time hiking and more time doing other adventures like mountain biking, kayaking, camping, and most recently building my off road 4×4 overlanding rig.

Hike Northeast was becoming less and less of a priority, and thats when I knew things had to change.

Discover the Adventure

In September 2015, I rebranded Hike Northeast completely into Discover the Adventure and wrote an article on how my little blog grew up.

Today, we’re so glad to be able to share our experiences and adventures with you all and we hope you enjoy your stay in our virtual home.

Thanks for visiting!
